While Net Zero Energy buildings are the new normal, Positive Energy Buildings represent the next step on the decarbonisation pathway towards a climate-neutral built environment. In this scenario, a consolidated definition of what Positive Energy Buildings are is very much needed in order to enable the design, assessment, and documentation of Positive Energy Buildings in different contexts, climates, cultures, and markets
A fruitful discussion among three EU projects’ Cultural-E, EXCESS and syn_ikia research teams led to a joint understanding of the essence and benefits of Positive Energy Buildings in the residential sector.
