A new article on the development of the Active Window System has been published on the italian magazine Ingenio.
The article, written by Valentina Ciolli, Francesco Isaia and Leire Minguez Hilera from Eurac Research Institute for Renewable Energy, explores the role of windows and doors in buildings, increasingly becoming active façade elements supporting energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality and user comfort. In fact, concepts such as multi-functionality, prefabrication, integration of shading, ventilation, energy generation or sensor systems are becoming more and more common among innovative windows and doors.
